Little Dining Chair.

Sold, sorry.

One of the most famous and recognizable sixties furniture designs is the Platner Chair. Famous detective Columbo, played by Peter Falk, chills 1968 in Platner’s Easy Chair and a whole lounge with Platner chairs is blown up in 007 ‚Quantum of Solace‘.

American architect and designer Warren Platner developed a whole series of wire furniture in 1962, which immediately attracted a great deal of attention. Each piece is made of hundreds of nickel-plated steel rods, welded by hand, what made the production extremely complex and intricate.

Platner had a long and productive career, but this chair (and the other furniture from the series) is one of his most consistent designs. The line has been continuously produced by Knoll International in the fifty years since its introduction in 1966. Only the ‚Loveseats‘ (the 2-seater sofa) has not been produced since 1970.

Our chair is is in a very good vintage condition with original black Knoll fabrics.
